Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Causing Serous Otitis Media

Description : Carcinoma of the nasopharynx is the commonest malignancy of the nasopharynx.

It is asymptomatic in its early stages, and may only present as Eustachian tube obstruction with persistent or recurrent serous otitis media.

While nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurs more commonly in orientals, no racial group is immune to this insidious tumor.
