The normal tympanic membrane is a pale gray semitransparent ovoid cone shaped disc located at the end of the external auditory canal.
Notice, the long process of the incus which can be seen behind the tympanic membrane in the two o'clock position.
Notice also how the peaks and crevices of the medial wall of the middle ear can be seen as one looks "through" the tympanic membrane. |
