Bullous myringitis

Description : Bullous myringitis is a distinctive form of acute otitis media that is characterized by severe local pain, and by the appearance of hemorrhagic and serum filled blisters on the tympanic membrane and on the skin of the adjacent external auditory canal.
The large serum bulla seen on the posterior canal wall of this patient contains a small collection of blood in the dependent portion.
